David Ironside

David Ironside

David Ironside is an international and national multi-instrumental composer.

He has worked for HBO, Fox, Channel 4 (UK), TBS (Turner Broadcasting System), Discovery, PBS (USA), NHK Japan, Tokyo Broadcast System, Warner Brothers,
Natural History NZ, NZTV1, NZTV3 and Prime TV.

As a performing musician he has played and recorded with Blondie, Lou Reed, and
J.J. Cale.

In 2009 David won the New Zealand Quantas award for “Best Original Music in Television”.

This award was for the music for a 90 minute documentary – “Lost in Libya”.
A 90 minute documentary about New Zealand’s Long Desert Patrol Group in
Libya during WW2.

He was the creator, associate producer, co-writer and composer for “Is Your Cell Phone Killing You” which aired June 2011 as part of the Inside New Zealand series on TV3.

He composed the music for TV2 documentaries about the Glorivale community on the West Coast which aired in 2014 & 2015

He has a video production business producing web videos, TV ads and documentaries.
